What temperature should a worm farm be kept at?
In general worms are most productive between 59° – 86° Fahrenheit or 15° – 30° Celsius. When temperatures are not ideal, your worms will slow down their reproduction rates and eat less food. If your worms are too cold, they will crawl a lot and eventually mass together in a ball, resembling a hamburger, to keep warm.

Should I wet my worm farm?
Once every week, pour about five litres of fresh water into the Top Working Tray, which will flood down through the lower trays, ensuring the entire worm farm remains very moist. The sudden 'flood' will not harm the worms. Adding water is especially important in the hotter months of the year.
Can I leave my worm farm outside in the winter?
If you plan on keeping your bins outside, they can be insulated with blankets, burlap, straw, insulation foam, or other material as long as some gaps are left for air. If worms are kept outside and insulated, they will need less food over the winter months.

There are flies or maggots in the farm! Tiny little vinegar flies are occasionally present in worm farms (and compost bins) and are absolutely nothing to worry about.
