My Cactus Has Black Spots
Use a sharp knife to cut out black spots under 2 inches in diameter on saguaros or other thick cacti. Remove a layer of healthy tissue 1/4- to 1/2-inch wide all the way around the wound and allow it to dry out on its own. If the wound is already exuding liquid or if it is low on the plant, it is too late to treat.
